Bureau of Land Management – Branch of Energy Minerals in Alaska

  • Federal agency that permits and regulates exploration for oil and gas on the federally administered Outer Continental Shelf (OCS).
  • Online links to publicly available OCS seismic data (some SEG-Y, some hardcopy), resource assessments, lease sale schedules, environmental impact statements (these include good technical background information), well log data inventories, and more.
  • OCS well log digits currently available by tape checkout – moving to online downloads.
  • MMS Reading Room in Anchorage is open for browsing – a good source of free MMS publications in hard copy and CD formats (907) 334-5200.
